Rainwalking

It has been raining here since last night, a constant quiet, heavy, soaking rain.  On the way home from the airport this morning I was relishing in the silence from my backseat with Aasta sound asleep when I noticed a young woman in a bright yellow rain coat trompsing down the sidewalk.  Her arms swung wide and she bounced with every step splashing water all around her.  As I drove closer I couldn't help but be mesmerized by her every step.  She was traipsing through the rain as if the sky was the brightest blue she had ever seen.  Her face was lit up and her head was dripping wet with a smile that could have lit up the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree.  I've never seen her before and may never again but today she made my day.
